« Pricey, but worth it! »

You will LOVE this foundation if: (1) you have light/medium to medium skin in a warm tone, (2) your skin is pretty pretty good, though not necessarily perfect, and (3) you don't mind the tumeric smell for the first five minutes after applying the foundation. I am an Asian in my late 30's with light warm-toned skin, some freckle-like sun spots, and some scarring from adult acne. I don't like looking made up, but hesitate to leave the house without some sort of foundation and sun screen. I have been looking for something that evens out my skin tone and still looks natural. Perricone's No Foundation Foundation is perfect for me.

First, this foundation is supposed to work for all skin tones, but I think it would be best suited for those with warm skin tone in the light/medium to medium range. The Perricone website indicates that you should apply one pump (about a small pea size) and blend, blend, blend. This is supposed to enable the product to match any skin tone. I don't doubt that it does, but the increased blending thins out the product on your face, which affects how well it covers blemishes and scars. This won't be a problem if you have perfect skin. However, if you don't blend the product this way and your skin tone is light and cool, it will look orange on you. If your skin tone is dark, the product will look too light. If your skin tone is in the light/medium-medium warm range, you could use more of the product and blend less, and it will still look natural and provide more coverage.

Second, the coverage is translucent, not opaque, so you will need a concealer if you want extra coverage. I read some negative reviews of this product on other sites because people wanted better coverage than what the product promised. It is possible to get more coverage if you layer the product on but, as noted above, your skin tone should be in the light/medium range if you intend to do this because of the color of the tint. I use about a pump and a half on my face (for more coverage) and then follow with the "My Spots are Consealed" cover stick, which matches wonderfully. The combo makes me look like I have naturally perfect skin. A little mineral makeup also works well for increasing coverage of scars, but you wind up with a slight powdery (and less natural and dewey) look.

Third, other reviewers have described the smell as "fishy." I think it smells more like tumeric, the spice found in Indian curries. Either way, it is noticeable when you first put it on, but the smell dissipates after a few minutes. I've also asked my husband to smell me a few minutes after application, and he could not smell the foundation at all. It is a little surprising at first, but it goes away quickly. Also, the benefits of this product far outweigh the problem with the smell.

Overall, I think this is a great product. It replaces several other products and is a great all-in-one. I would highly recommend this product with the caveats above.

This foundation is remarkable. It does everything it claims to do. Skin looks flawless, smooth, and younger. Very natural looking too! Worth it!

« Suprisingly Awesome! »

I am a fair-skinned brunette (age 34), and have oily, acne-prone skin and now I'm getting wrinkles (great, huh?!). I have tried many, many foundations and I am now on my 3rd bottle of No Foundation Foundation and I really love it! I am a beauty-junkie, and I think I unconsciously like to switch products all the time, but I've stuck with this one for the last 6 months (a new record) because of these reasons:

1. It does not highlight my wrinkles at all. It minimizes them.
2. Over the time I've used this product, I've noticed a reduction in the depth of the wrinkles around my eyes and mouth and an overall improvement in the texture of my skin. And it does not make me break out.
3. The color always matches. I'm one of those people who can never seem to get the color of my foundation right. This does it for me!
4. I actually have an illuminated, healthy look with this product. Not too shiny and not too dull.
5. As a new mom who doesn't have a lot of time to do my make-up, I appreciate that it's a multi-tasker! SPF protection, anti-aging goodness and natural-looking coverage!

I need some coverage for my acne-scarred, pregnancy-impacted skin, so I pair this with a concealer and finishing powder. TIP: I put the finishing powder on, then I put my powder bronzer on, and then my finishing powder on again on my cheecks or I find that this product will blotch the blush (even when using a cream blush).

I know some have noted that the smell is not great, but honestly I've never really noticed it.

It's a small bottle, but it lasts me 3 months and trust me I'm not smart about using it. I bet if I used a sponge to apply it I could stretch it out.

« best foundation ever! »

Thanks to all the rave reviews by amazon users, I decided to try it for myself. WOW! Absolutely the best foundation i've ever tried. The smell doesn't bother me at all. Although at one point my boyfriend said my face smelled like chicken broth. It's not such a bad thing to smell like chicken broth... Will buy again!
